Lactitol, a sugar alcohol derived from lactose (milk sugar), is a versatile, reduced calorie sweetener. Danisco can supply lactitol in several forms for a broad range of applications, including the production of diabetic foods.  It benefits from wide regulatory approval, globally including the USA, Canada and Japan, and is listed in the EU Sweetener Directive.
